Impact Maker is an online marketplace that connects large companies and businesses with talented sustainability and climate change professionals from around the world. Launched in 2024, Impact Maker's primary purpose is to help businesses successfully navigate sustainability risks, implement best practices, and meet diverse climate goals. Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) experts can provide businesses with a full-fledged strategy for their sustainability goals and accomplishments, and meet legal compliance.
The client reached out to Yo!Gigs after considering it as the base solution for the proposed ESG marketplace. To help businesses find and hire experts, the client required a dedicated dashboard tailored for both sustainability experts and hiring companies. Additionally, the client needed some features to facilitate an easy registration and hiring process. The hiring companies should have the option to post a job and directly hire a sustainability expert.

The ESG experts' talent pool is quite limited, and it is difficult to find diverse talent in one place. The various certifications, including GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CFA, make it more difficult to find and hire the right talent. The client sought to expand the talent pool and develop a unified platform that would enable companies to fulfill all their hiring requirements for sustainability experts.
ESG services can range from a one-time assessment to year-long strategic consulting and implementation. In the industry, there are no fixed pricing standards, making it difficult for companies to fix a hiring budget. With an online marketplace with multiple pricing models, including bidding, fixed-price, and service packages, pricing transparency can be introduced, and the price complexity problem can be resolved.
Because of the various ESG frameworks, companies may not be aware of the type or framework of sustainability expert they require. The client wanted a system where companies can list detailed requirements, and eligible experts can share their availability and job proposals for the same.
ESG decisions can impact legal compliance, investor relations, and public image, so clients expect highly credible, trustworthy consultants. The client required Impact Maker to be a highly professional and credible platform for sustainability experts, where all experts can be manually approved after registration.
As said earlier, we were in discussions with the client to use Yo!Gigs as the base. Due to the distinctive business model and unpredictable response of the industry, both parties realized that initial requirements can evolve. To best match this scenario and provide the client with maximum flexibility, we agreed to opt for the Agile development model. Instead of following a pre-defined Scope of Work, all customizations, milestones, and deliverables were to be mutually agreed upon throughout the project lifecycle. For faster delivery and market validation, we divided the entire project into multiple phases and sprints.

To help the client make a strategic entrance into the market, we devised a thorough onboarding strategy that proposed incentives to onboard ESG experts, along with social media campaigns that align with the goal.

We collected early adopter feedback to gradually improve the overall value proposition of the client, including the benefits offered and platform features.
Other tasks in our vendor onboarding strategy included creating a Google Merchant account, creating a Crunchbase profile, collecting reviews and ratings, establishing word of mouth, and utilizing old networks.
The client's marketplace idea achieved market validation in the early stages of deployment. The end product was tried and tested for minute use cases and fulfilled the needs of sustainability experts.
The final build was fast and responsive, delivering a highly professional and satisfying user experience. With meticulously selected UI/UX elements and a conversational color palette, Impact Maker was able to create a lasting impression in the corporate environment.
Simplifying hiring and solving price complexity were two major problems with the client's proposed idea. In Impact Maker, we integrated four different hiring models with flexible pricing, including job posting, bidding, direct hiring, and service packages, to resolve the problem.
To build trust on the platform, we added a custom registration form and admin approval for ESG expert registration. Furthermore, backed with trusted payment gateways and fraudulent job cancellations prevention, we were able to build confidence in the platform.
When the client opted for our digital marketing services, they also challenged us to increase vendor registrations within a limited period. The result was an impressive vendor registration count with sustainability experts setting up detailed profiles and pricing on the marketplace platform. For reference, we were able to attract 150+ certified sustainability experts within a short period soon after the launch.
With a carefully drafted SEO strategy aimed at establishing the base for further optimization activities, we were able to generate rankings and traffic on all branded keywords.
